This year Birralee Primary School has introduced a new Philosophy Hour across the school. We involve the children in explaining describing and make sense of the world using concepts appropriate to each age group. Concepts such as knowledge, culture, mind and responsibility are common because they are familiar ideas we use or refer to almost every day.
A visit to Birralee from The Age newspaper on Wednesday provided the opportunity for us to show off our wonderful NAPLAN results for 2012. These are exciting times! We have embarked on a $3m building project, which will deliver state of the art flexible learning spaces for all our students. At the same time, we are redeveloping our extensive and beautiful grounds, delivering to our students a great learning environment – both indoors and out.
At Birralee we are committed to developing the whole child. We aim to provide an opportunity for all our students to achieve excellence, be that academically, on the sports field, across the arts or in service to the community.
